The same checking habit costs a first responder something different from what it costs a graduate student. The same pattern of concealment is a different problem for someone whose face is recognized in a hotel lobby than for someone whose privacy has never been at risk. What has to stay hidden, what can be said out loud, what a disclosure would actually cost: those change everything about how the work has to be paced.
That is why this practice writes pages for particular circumstances rather than one page for everyone. Reading the one written for your situation is useful for a specific reason: it tends to be faster to recognize yourself in a description of your own week than in a clinical definition. A page that already knows what a security clearance, a rotating shift, a guardian co-signature, or a public name does to a person's options is a page that can get to the actual work sooner.

How This Section Is Organized
The pages below are grouped by the circumstance a reader is actually in rather than by diagnosis. Nobody is expected to fit one group cleanly, and plenty of people sit in two or three of them at once. A reader who is an executive and a survivor and sixteen months into a fixation is not being asked to choose; the groups exist to make the right page easier to find, not to sort anyone.
Nothing here narrows what this practice treats. Every one of these pages leads back into the same three interconnected domains, held by the same licensed psychologist, with the same clinical depth.

Alafiora sees clients from sixteen. A sixteen or seventeen year old begins with a guardian's co-signature on the service agreement, and what is discussed in the room is handled under the confidentiality rules that apply to a minor in that state, explained to both the client and the guardian before any clinical work starts. Why This Practice Is Built for Complicated Lives
Every page in this section is held by the same clinician. Dr. Esther Lapite-Garrett is a licensed psychologist who treats love obsession and love addiction, compulsive sexual behavior, and sexual trauma as one interconnected system rather than as three unrelated referrals, and there are no associates, no rotating providers, and no case handoffs at Alafiora. A client who begins with a fixation and later brings a trauma history is not started over with someone new.
That structure is what makes the specificity on these pages possible. A deliberately small caseload means the work can be paced to a shift rotation, a deployment cycle, a semester, or a schedule that does not bend, rather than to a standard slot. Sessions are available virtually, on location, in a client's home, or at a private location of the client's choosing within licensed states. Alafiora is private pay and bills no insurance, so no diagnosis reaches a third party unless a client authorizes it directly.

Every session at Alafiora is held by one licensed psychologist
Dr. Esther Lapite-Garrett is the founder and sole practitioner of Alafiora. There are no associates, no rotating providers, and no case handoffs: the person who reads a client's history in the first session is the same person still holding it two years later. She is licensed in New Mexico and Indiana, with additional state licensure underway.
Her training is doctoral-level, which typically extends several years beyond a master's-level license in assessment, diagnosis, and the treatment of complex, overlapping presentations. She keeps a deliberately small caseload so that depth is possible, participates in ongoing peer consultation and clinical training, and maintains her own personal therapy.
