13. Lived-Experience Quotations and Narrative Accounts, and Why There Are No Testimonials
Alafiora LLC does not publish testimonials from current or former psychotherapy clients, and does not solicit them. American Psychological Association Ethical Standard 5.05, which the licensing boards in every state where Dr. Lapite-Garrett practices incorporate, prohibits soliciting testimonials from current therapy clients and from anyone otherwise vulnerable to undue influence. This practice treats that as the floor rather than the ceiling and simply does not run testimonials at all.
The quotations that appear throughout this Website under the headings "What Some People May Describe" and "What Some Survivors May Describe" are fiction. Dr. Lapite-Garrett writes them from her own clinical knowledge and expertise. She uses AI as a drafting tool and approves every word. They are not drawn from any specific client or group of clients, and no client input or information of any kind was used to make them. They are not statements by any client of this practice, they are not quotations from any real person, and no individual can be identified from them. Each page carrying them says so on the page itself.
The same is true of every narrative account on this Website, and it is stated separately here because these accounts are more detailed than the quotations and the distinction matters more, not less, as the detail increases. Throughout this Website there are passages describing a person in the third person, as he or she, with an occupation, a length of marriage, a sequence of events, and a pattern shown building or escalating over a period of time. Every one of them is fiction. Dr. Lapite-Garrett writes them from her own clinical knowledge and expertise. She uses AI as a drafting tool and approves every word. No such account is any client's history, any client's trajectory, or a composite assembled from client histories, and no client input or information of any kind was used to make any of them. The occupations, timelines, family details, and specific incidents are invented. Where an account shows a pattern worsening over time, that sequence illustrates how the psychological phenomenon may develop when it does; it is not the course any particular person's life has taken, and it is not a prediction of the course any reader's life will take. Each page carrying such accounts says so on the page itself, above the accounts.
Alafiora LLC will never confirm or deny the identity of any current or former client.
14. Why This Site Says When AI Was Used
The disclosure in Section 13 is unusual. Most practices that draft copy this way do not say so, and no rule requires saying it. It appears here for three reasons, stated plainly rather than left for a reader to guess at.
The first is that the claim it accompanies is a strong one. Every account on this Website states that no client's words, history, or information went into making it. A reader has no way to verify that from the outside, and "composite" has long been the word used when a real case has had its details changed. Naming the drafting method is what makes the stronger claim credible: these accounts are not altered client material, because they were never built from client material at all.
The second is that a practice which treats consent as central cannot reasonably ask for a reader's trust while withholding something that reader would want to know. Disclosure that happens only when it is comfortable is not disclosure.
The third is straightforward. Anything that could be found later is better said now, in this practice's own words, than discovered and described in someone else's.
What the disclosure does not mean is set out in the Privacy Policy at Section 8, and bears repeating here in one sentence: artificial intelligence has never been used in any part of clinical care, has never had access to protected health information, client records, session content, or intake and clinical disclosures, and has never been given any information belonging to any client or prospective client. Its use is confined to drafting educational copy for this Website and building templates for the business side of the practice. Dr. Lapite-Garrett writes from her own clinical knowledge and expertise, and reads and approves every word before it is published.

Every session at Alafiora is held by one licensed psychologist
Dr. Esther Lapite-Garrett is the founder and sole practitioner of Alafiora. There are no associates, no rotating providers, and no case handoffs: the person who reads a client's history in the first session is the same person still holding it two years later. She is licensed in New Mexico and Indiana, with additional state licensure underway.
Her training is doctoral-level, which typically extends several years beyond a master's-level license in assessment, diagnosis, and the treatment of complex, overlapping presentations. She keeps a deliberately small caseload so that depth is possible, participates in ongoing peer consultation and clinical training, and maintains her own personal therapy.
