Our Commitment

Accessibility is not an afterthought here. It is part of how we extend care to every person who finds their way to this Website.
This Accessibility Statement describes our current conformance status, the measures we are taking to improve accessibility, known limitations, how to report barriers you encounter, and how we will respond.
Accessibility Standard Applied
Alafiora LLC is working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). WCAG 2.1 Level AA is the internationally recognized standard for web accessibility and defines requirements that make content perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for users with a wide range of disabilities.
We are also mindful of WCAG 2.2 as the evolving standard and intend to align with its additional success criteria as our Website develops.
Conformance Status
Alafiora LLC is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partial conformance means that some parts of the Website may not yet fully meet all accessibility requirements. Measures We Are Taking
Alafiora LLC takes the following measures to support and improve the accessibility of this Website:
Structural and Navigation Accessibility. We are designing this Website with a clear and logical heading hierarchy on each page, using proper heading levels to help users navigate content and understand its structure. Navigation menus, links, and form submission elements are arranged in a logical and predictable order.
Keyboard Accessibility. All functionality on this Website is designed to be accessible through keyboard navigation alone, without requiring the use of a mouse. This includes menus, disclosures, interactive elements, and the Exit Safely button.
Forms. This Website hosts no forms of its own. Booking, inquiry, and compliance requests are handled on third-party platforms that open in a separate window, and Alafiora does not control their markup. Their accessibility is covered under Known Limitations below. Anyone who encounters a barrier on one of them can reach this practice by telephone or email instead, and the request will be handled the same way.
Color Contrast. Text and visual elements on this Website are designed to meet the WCAG 2.1 Level AA minimum contrast ratio requirements, ensuring that content is legible for users with low vision or color blindness.
Text Resizing. The Website is designed to support text resizing through standard browser zoom functionality without loss of content or functionality.
Alternative Text. All meaningful images, graphics, and interactive buttons on this Website include descriptive alternative text so that users who rely on screen readers can understand their purpose and content. Decorative images are marked appropriately.

Every session at Alafiora is held by one licensed psychologist
Dr. Esther Lapite-Garrett is the founder and sole practitioner of Alafiora. There are no associates, no rotating providers, and no case handoffs: the person who reads a client's history in the first session is the same person still holding it two years later. She is licensed in New Mexico and Indiana, with additional state licensure underway.
Her training is doctoral-level, which typically extends several years beyond a master's-level license in assessment, diagnosis, and the treatment of complex, overlapping presentations. She keeps a deliberately small caseload so that depth is possible, participates in ongoing peer consultation and clinical training, and maintains her own personal therapy.
